For childcare workers who must respond to a child first aid emergency because of job responsibilities or regulatory requirements, such as childcare staff, teachers, foster care workers and parents, youth organizations staff, camp counselors, and coaches for children's sports organizations.

Description

This course teaches how to effectively manage illness and injuries in a child while professional help is on the way. The course includes First Aid Basics, and Medical, Injury, and Environmental Emergencies (how to handle bleeding, burns, cuts, broken bones, diabetes, asthma, poisoning, seizures, bites, hypothermia, etc.), as well as relief of Choking for responsive and unresponsive children and infants. It may include other optional First Aid topics, as well as CPR and AED. Skills demonstration is included in the course.

Certification

Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Card (fully accredited for two years).

Day care centers staff need to take both CPR and First Aid classes. We do not teach the Health and Safety class, but we can help you finding a convenient one.
